The aim of the English Preparatory Unit is to provide the students at Çankaya University, where the medium of instruction is English (except for the Faculty of Law, the Department of Public Relations and Advertising, and the Vocational School of Justice), with basic English language skills that will enable them to follow their departmental courses effectively. For this purpose, a student-oriented program is being carried out at our school, which basically aims to improve students’ academic language skills and takes individual differences into account.
Our unit aims to promote learner autonomy and train students to take responsibility for their own learning, acquire appropriate study habits, and use information access strategies effectively. Furthermore, it aims to make our students acquire effective skills for communication, research, and critical and creative thinking that they can use in their academic, professional, and social lives. In this respect, we provide our students with quality and technology-aided education so that they can become versatile, well-qualified, and responsible individuals.
Çankaya University English Preparatory Unit serves as a modern educational institution with its dynamic staff consisting of Turkish and foreign instructors who put an emphasis on professional development, have adopted teamwork, and can use technology effectively.
